About Our Baseball Programs
League Structure and Age Divisions
Grant Park Baseball operates multiple divisions for children of all skill levels. Each division is carefully designed to match your child’s age and abilities.
T-Ball/Rookie League (Ages 4-6)
First, our introductory program welcomes young players ages 4 to 6. In this division, children learn baseball basics in a fun, non-competitive environment. During practice, they develop hand-eye coordination and learn proper throwing techniques. Additionally, kids master catching fundamentals and begin understanding game flow.
Minor Division Coach Pitch (Ages 7-8)
Next, this division typically serves second and third graders. Here, players experience live pitching from coaches for the first time. Meanwhile, they continue developing fundamental skills like proper batting stance. Furthermore, children learn base running strategies and explore different fielding positions.
Major Division Kid Pitch/Coach Pitch Hybrid (Ages 9-11)
For older players, the Major Division offers more competitive play. This division primarily serves fourth and fifth graders. However, some advanced third graders may also qualify based on experience. Throughout the season, we maintain our emphasis on skill development and sportsmanship.
Spring and Fall Programs
Our primary season runs during spring. Typically, registration opens in late fall or early winter. In addition, we occasionally offer summer and fall programming. These sessions include sandlot-style play that provides extra opportunities in a relaxed setting. Note that age groups for summer and fall may vary from our spring divisions.
